New SGA! How cool is that? Must watch...

But not yet, the staying up late is killing me, this is shaping up to be my 5th night in a row of going to bed after 3. At least I get to lie in tomorrow though.

I'm getting fic ideas again all of a sudden. Strange how that happens, they sort of come and go. Actually, it's been ages since I last finished a fanfic, I think my last one was the Traders fic '5 Days'. No idea how long ago that was, but it wasn't recent. Talking of Traders, I got an urge to watch it the other day. I sort of stopped part way through season 4, then never started to again. I really should watch the rest.

I have also recently begun to rediscover my Numb3rs obsession. And The Dead Zone is back on Sci Fi. I've missed some, so I have to catch up.
And Lost on Sky 1! I did cheat and download the first three, but after this Sunday I'm just as "aaaaagh" as everyone else.
Monk Christmas special last week. Wtf? But of an odd time for it, isn't it? But then this from the show that brought us the Hallowe'en show in July...
I'm really not sure about Torchwood. I mean, I love it, but I don't know if I love it as much as I expected too. I'm hoping for much better things in the second half of the series. Then again, the next ep looks to be all about Toshiko, she's not that interesting, I want to know about Jack, damnit!
Also, I'm loving Robin Hood. I didn't think I would, and it's not amazing or anything, but I'm still loving it.

Finally, an update from real life. I've been at my unpleasant and boring job for 6 months now, which apparently means a pay rise! Cool! I'll have to stop complaining as much. Well, maybe not. But an extra 60p an hour is pretty good. They're having their Christmas do part way through December. I said I'd go, but now everyone's talking about dressing up really posh and buying new clothes. If they do, I'm not going to go.

Right, I have a ridiculously long Numb3rs fic to finish reading. I was a fool to start it, I'm going to be up all night and then disappointed because I knew when I started that it was a WIP.

How did I manage to miss the fact that Monk season 4 was showing in England finally? I mean, yeah I'm at work when it's on, but I would have thought someone online would have mentioned it. But no. So I wander into the break room for a cup of coffee, and Mr Monk Gets Drunk is on! And yeah, I've seen it like 10 times, and got the DVD, but it's still exciting. Last I heard there were no plans to show it here.

Also, how annoying is it that Lost is going to be showing at the same time as Torchwood? The fools, what were they thinking? Well, I'm *so* not waiting and watching a repeat of Torchwood, I'll have to see the Lost repeat. Looks like it's going to be Wednesdays at 10, the 4400's slot. Which is good because there's nothing on then. But bad because I'm at work and I'll have to tape it.

My story is going badly, but it's going finally. I'm sort of rewriting something I wrote when I was about 12. I found a load of old stories and stuff going through my cupboards a few weeks ago. Useful! But I'm so crap and having to write on demand, all the ideas just drain out of my head!

I've just had the best night's sleep I've had in ages. Weird and wacky (and slightly disturbing) dreams, but I woke up feeling really good. Which makes a change. Come to think of it. I don't remember having any dreams for ages either. I'll get my excellent post mattress soon too, which isn't half wrecked and about 1 1/1 inches thinner at one side, so maybe this will become a more regular occurrence.

It's raining today, which sucks a bit. And my parents and sister are back tonight, which sucks even more. But I've got a few hours, and I've got two episodes of Slings And Arrows to watch, so I think I'll do that. And I've got over half of season 4 of Monk to watch. It arrived yesterday, about a week early. Not that I'm complaining or anything!

Aaah, I love days off. It's just not the same when you're working late, you spend the whole day checking your watch.

First off, huge amounts of congratulations to Tony Shalhoub for his third Emmy win for Monk the other night. And also, that was one great thank you speech, hilarious. Watch it on Youtube here

Well, my mum and dad are off again, they've gone down to visit my Nana and grandad for a few days and to pick up my sister from the airport. She decided to cut short her 5 week holiday and come home a week or so early. Cost her like £120 to change the flight. I'd have stayed in Greece and enjoyed the sun for an extra week and spent the money on a hotel. But whatever. So I get the house to myself until Thursday. So yay.

Right, I'm going get some food, watch Lost, and then I have some Atlantis to catch up on.

Working 9-6 isn't so bad, but I hate 9-8. It's seriously insane. I worked 9-6 today as overtime, which is all good because my part time hours suck. But I want 9-6 every day, because I almost felt like I didn't need to go straight to bed afterwards. Wow, two extra hours makes all the difference, finishing at 8 is juts too late for a Saturday. Never mind.

I've got tickets for AFI in Bristol in October. My sister's at uni there, so I'll be able to use her flat as an impromptu doss house for the night. Which is good.

In other news, I hate my job with a vengeance and really really need to find a new one before they introduce rules against breathing or something. With all the new insane rules this week, it really wouldn't surprise me.

The last Monk ep of this half season aired on Friday, I have it but I haven't watched it yet. I'm reluctant because it means no more new Monk until January after I've seen it!

By the way, if this post seems random/insane/weird it's because I've had a bit (of a lot) to drink. That's another good thing about finishing at 6:you get a lot more drinking time in!

I was rudely awoken at half ten this morning, half an hour before my alarm was due to go off, by work asking me to go in. I can never turn work down, because I need money, so I rushed and (despite Sunday buses) managed to get in for 12. Worked til 7, they asked me to stay til 10, but no way. So I didn't get any tidying done at all. Never mind.

I got back at quarter to eight, walked the dog, bought some food and am now making curry. I was planning on watching more Monk, but I might watch Galaxy Quest instead, get my Tony Shalhoub fix that way. (I watched some of The Siege last night. I'd forgotten he was in it, because I saw it years ago before I'd ever heard of him, but he's got a huge part, and he's really good Not my kinda film really, but worth watching just for his performance. Seriously. I don't think that's just the obsession talking.) On the other hand, I might catch up on the Atlantis episodes that my Monk fixation has caused me to miss. Or I might just sleep, because I'm kinda exhausted.

I got back from work today at about eleven. With everyone else on holiday, I'd had to leave Milly locked in the kitchen since I left at around 5. When I got back and let her out, she charged at me, tail wagging, whimpering, shaking. Poor thing. I think she thought she'd been abandoned or something. She followed me around the house for ages after, too. Although that may have had something to do with the Pringles I was eating.

I'm going to have to abandon her tomorrow too, and for even longer on Friday and Saturday, and maybe Sunday. I feel really mean.

How did I manage to not know the 5th season of Monk had started?!
BBC 2 haven't even shown 4 yet, have they?

I've been asked to work four hours tomorrow, which sucks since I was looking forward to having a whole day off, but I'll get money, and it's the first bit of overtime I've been offered in weeks. I need to grab any they can give me. At some point I'm going to have to start looking for a better job. Preferably a full time one with less ridiculous hours. I just wish I had any idea at all about what I wanted to do!

Ah well, best go to bed.

Talking of bed, I decided my mattress is rubbish, it's all destroyed and slopes to one side, which hurts my back. I've been putting up with it for years, but I finally decided to get a new one. So I went to choose one today. Got a real posh one, it's so comfy! I'm all excited about getting it. Won't be delivered for three weeks though. Which sucks a bit.
