I feel kind of crappy. Exhausted and headachey and generally lethargic and rubbish. I've been trying to write, but I just can't concentrate. So then I wound up browsing the internet for DVDs, and I discovered that the 2nd season of Regenesis is out in Italy. So I bought it. It has an English soundtrack though. But there are no other seasons, depressingly. I wonder if I still have the episodes on my old hard drive. I'll have to have a look.

But not right now. I'm finally going to sit down and watch Daredevil...

Random browsing of Amazon has revealed to me that the first season of ReGenesis has finally been released in Canada. It came out way back in November.

It's been out in the UK for years now, and I've been waiting in vain for the second season to come out. I've given up hope of that now, but if they've released season 1 in Canada, there's a chance they'll release the other seasons too. So yay! I'll have to keep an eye on it. I have all the seasons as .avi files, but I'd much rather have the DVDs.

(Of course, the release of the first season is no guarantee of more coming out, look at Traders for example...)

I can't sleep. I may have had too much caffeine.

Also, they're showing ReGenesis on FX now, how awesome is that? I wonder if they'll show the other seasons, because SciFi showed 1&2 then seemed to stop, unless I just missed them. I've seen them already, but it'd be nice if they were shown on TV.

So, the last ReGenesis, only one season left of Corner Gas... I'm going to have to find me some new Canadian TV series to obsess over!.

Right, tonight I'm going to watch ReGenesis. Because I'm four episodes behind, which is utterly ridiculous, but is the consequence of spending every night writing slightly rubbish fanfic. So now I'm going to catch up. Well, if I don't fall asleep first. I don't know what's up with me recently, I'm tired all the time. It's particularly annoying because I'm finally getting a decent amount of sleep. Maybe I should go back to staying up til 2 when I need to be up at 7, at last that way I still had the energy to stay up til 2 the next day. This makes the opposite of sense.

Why have further seasons of ReGenesis still not been released on DVD? As far as I can tell, season one is the only one available, and I've already got that. Plus, its only out in England? C'mon Canada, support your TV shows! (So I can buy them from England)

I've got another interview at NPower tommorow. Trouble is, if I get the job, it starts next week, and I don't know how that would work with my current job, since I probably have to give them a month's notice. But I guess I'll deal with that problem if I get it, no point worrying about it now, especially not given my track record at getting jobs at NPower!

Went round to [livejournal.com profile] freaky_science's house today to inflict on him show him some awesome TV. Watched the first episode of Supernatural, the first two of Regenesis and a couple of season 3 Corner Gas. Then when I got home I watched the new ReGenesis.

Cut for ReGenesis spoilers/rambling )

Anyway, Heroes is on tonight, and before that I'm gonna get some fanfic written.

I successfully found the ReGenesis torrent in the end. Just watched it. I should really stop watching the "Next Week" bit though because I think I know what's going to happen now, and not in a good way.

In unrelated news, I've been reading Wincest and enjoying it. Oh dear...
I've even got an idea for a story of my own. But I doubt I'll write it.

Gah! ReGenesis is downloading SO SLOWLY!

I'm trying to work out the best (and cheapest) way to get to Gatwick for when I go on holiday. It doesn't look that expensive on Hull Trains to Kings cross, but then I'm lost. Already. before I've even made the journey I'm lost. I really really hate train journeys, and I especially hate trains in London. I' really really tempted to break my self imposed "no more big spending" rule and blow my savings on a car just so I don't have to circumnavigate the damn underground. With a suitcase.

I still haven't watched ReGenesis! I keep meaning to, but then not getting around to it. I would watch it now, but I need to be up for the second half of my pass plus tomorrow morning, and I was meant to go to bed like an hour ago. Maybe I should just wait until our new TV arrives in a few days (the old one broke on saturday) because I'll be able to plug my laptop into it and watch it on TV then. Which will be awesome, since at the moment I can only watch my downloads on the computer.

I had so planned on getting an early night tonight. But here I am at half past midnight, browsing fanfic and thinking about watching the new episode of ReGenesis. And, oh yeah, eating jelly beans. I need someone to tell me to get my ass into bed or else I'm just not gonna do it!

I am so exhausted! It's mostly my own fault, I knew I should have waited until today to watch the new ReGenesis rather than putting it on at gone 12 last night knowing full well I had to get up earlyish the next morning. And if I had waited, I wouldn't have seen it yet, and therefore wouldn't have been distracted during my driving lesson this afternoon.

And just how ridiculous is that, anyway? I mean, there I am driving along, and I suddenly realise I'm not thinking about driving at all, I'm wondering what's going to happen on next week's episode. Stupid things that show you clips of the next episode! I always knew they were evil. So now I want to know what's up with Bob, because he's my favourite character, and I'm a bit protective of him. If anyone out there has any spoilers, please please send them my way!

ReGenesis s03e05, just after Bob's trying to identify the mystery organ, before he puts the drops in his eyes. Is he crying? Or are his eyes just bugging him again? I can't tell.

Well, everything went fine for my mum's birthday. I managed to get her a present, went halves with Jennie to get her a singing bowl and some incense. I put Jen in charge of the cake, but it apparently went a little wrong, so they bought an apple pie instead!

I had to get up at 7 yesterday to go to work, after getting to bed late the night before and then being woken up at who knows when because Jennie didn't have her key. So I was pretty exhausted all day. I worked 9-8, having tried and failed to get sent home early. Went out for Chinese food with mum, dad and Jennie after, then got home and decided to go to Spiders with Jennie. Probably not the best of ideas considering how much I really wanted to go to sleep, but I ate some pro plus instead. It was a good night though, I ended up talking about sci-fi and comics for ages, which is always fun! Couldn't get a taxi home of course, so we ended up walking for about half an hour before we got one. No idea what time we got home, it was starting to get light though. Then just as I was about to go to bed, Jennie said "Know what we should watch? That Def Leppard film," She was talking about a 'Hysteria: The Def Leppard story'. It's a made for TV movie about Def Leppard that I taped a few years ago. Not that good tobe honest, but I still kinda like it. Being an idiot, I agreed and went to hunt it out. So we munched crisps and watched that until we both nearly fell asleep and decided to give up. That was about 5. So I was up for like 22 hours yesterday. And very little of it was spend sitting around doing nothing. Very exhausting! Might have to watch the rest of the film today.

So, long story short, I'm very tired today!

I think I'm going to go and watch ReGenesis now.

I wonder if I'd be able to get the 5th of July off work. It's the day before Pirates of the Carribean is released, so it might be tricky.

Also, I am officially obsessed with the TV show ReGenesis, and specifically with the character of Bob Melnikov, who just plain rules. I do love seeing aspies portrayed fairly accurately on TV. Also, the whole thing with genetic engineering and virology and stuff is fascinating, my favourite type of science. Everyone needs to watch this show immediately. And I need to make a new icon...

I was reading an issue of New Scientist from a couple of weeks ago at work today, and I came across something that had me having to press the mute button so the person who called couldn't hear me laughing. A couple of years ago, there was a study into whether or not people preferred normal to GM foods. The study was done in a shop in Canada, where customers were offered two kinds of sweetcorn, GM and non-GM. It found that people bought 50% more GM then non-GM. The study was actually awarded a prize by the British Food Journal for most outstanding paper of 2004. Apparently the results aren't as accurate as the paper suggested though, because rather than being labeled GM and non GM as the paper claimed, a campaign group called GMWatch has published a photo of the study, showing the non-GM corn in the store. There is a big sign hanging above it saying "Would you eat wormy sweetcorn?" Yeah, I wonder why that didn't sell as well as the other stuff!

Read the article here if you want, it's only short.

Completely unrelated, but the latest issue of New Scientist has an article about genetic engineering (of humans this time) and it mentions a gene therapy trial. Same day I read it, I went home and watched an episode of ReGenesis, and someone mentioned the exact same thing, so I knew what he was talking about. Very cool, made me feel all clever!

My day off tomorrow. Now, I know I was all complainy about the long gaps between days off, but apparently I have no right to complain, someone there is having his first day off in 8 weeks tomorrow. I think he wanted that many extra hours though, but still... And anyway, I have next Saturday booked off. This time next week I'll have seen Def Leppard. How cool is that!?
