Someone is spamming my e-mail! Every time I log in, I've got about 300 new messages, all saying nothing. And with an attachment with a virus. It's very annoying. I've just been deleting them, but just now I nearly deleted an e-mail I wanted, so if anyone has sent me mail and I don't reply, it'll be because I've accidentally deleted it! Sorry! I think I only got the junk though.

I've worked out the problem with the Spanish class. It's two of the students, two women who sit at the other side of the room to me. I don't want to be mean, because they seem nice enough, and they are really trying, but they are just no good at it. Take today for example. We had to do a couple of excursuses. Everyone else got them finished in about ten minutes. Twenty minutes after that, the teacher was still round the other side of the room explaining to these two for the 50th time how to do something. It's not their fault really, I think it's probably the teacher. You can't move the class at the pace of the slowest student. If you did that, no one would even learn anything. Which is, in fact, what is happening in the Spanish class. Because by the time we move on to something else, the rest of us have lost the will to live. I really did spend twenty minutes of that class helping the woman next to me change bits of her homework. And then there was the half hour at the start where we had to read out the homework we'd done and these two stumbled over every word while the teacher tried to correct their grammar as they read. I mean, I could probably teach the class better! Well, okay, no I couldn't. But this is just crazy.

And then at the end, the teacher mentioned in passing that there was a week off for half term soon, and we didn't have a class the week after that either, so we were having an extra one at the end, and I swear, no word of a lie, those two women needed ten minutes of checking and double checking the dates and discussing it to make sure they had it right! Aaaaaaaagh!!! They were still at it when I finally got bored and left, a while after the class was meant to have ended. For all I know, they are still there now, wondering which weeks they aren't there.

I feel a bit mean for the moaning, but I think it's justified! :-D

Anyway, I got lots of my Traders story written earlier today. I’m a bit worried that it’s crap though. I just can’t get Grant quite right. I think I’m going to have to go over it a couple of million times, but it should be finished pretty soon. Maybe. Been a while since I finished a fic. Well, I did finish a short Atlantis PWP the other night, but I doubt I’ll post that.

Grant, I am finding, is hard to write for. I've been watching Perian's vids, to get a feel, but he's just so damn elusive.

I'm stuck on my story, just before the Bad Thing happens, but I know what is going to happen, I think, now that I've seen more of Donald. Should have time to write some today, between babysitting sister's sprog and going out this evening.

Here's a teaser...

Donald suppressed a grin and shook his head, turning the man around bodily in his swivel chair. The head didn’t follow, remaining at gaze with the cavorting derivatives, so Donald put his finger on Grant’s chin and guided it gently towards him. “Home. I’m starving and it’s your turn to cook. You promised me shepherd’s pie, remember? And I got you that root beer you like, from the states. IBC. So come on.”

The lure of imported root beer pulled Grant’s attention forward at last. “You found some? Where? I’ve looked for it everywhere. Come on, then. Let’s go. Did you remember to get hamburger meat? Do we have frozen peas?” He shut off his computer and shrugged into his parka as he burbled. “I know we’ve got mashed potato mix, because we had some last night. We should stop and get some cheese. I know we don’t have any cheese. I used the last of it on the nachos I had for breakfast.” He launched himself out the door, leaving Donald to follow in his wake, bemused and shaking his head.

I can be one of those people in one of my activities. It is just as upsetting when everyone seems to understand what is going on and you're still sat there going "What, but how come they know?". It feels like everyone knows what is going on than you and you feel really silly. I'm not having a go, I should add, in no way am I having a go, just saying I respect their trying hard. In that situation I would probably have given up because I hate feeling stupid. I'm sure they will catch up soon. You are still at the beginning of the class

In academic I was actually kinda where you are, and I use to get a bit frustrated when people were slow and I couldn't understand what they were having trouble with, but just as easily I was in that situation, so I kinda sympathised.

Good luck with your Grant story *rubs hands together*

Yeah, I know what you mean. In some of my classes at uni I was the one struggling to keep up, (mostly in German) and it's good that they are trying and all that, but aaaaaagh!!! I guess it's different types of learning, or different personalities or something. When I don't get something, I pretend like I do, then read up on it at home so I get it by the next class. These women, they don't seem to care that they are slowing everyone down. I don't think they even notice!

Oh well, there aren't that many classes left, anyway.

Yeah, Grant is incredibly hard to write! Donald's not that easy either. But he's not in my story though, which I think makes Grant more difficult!

Looks like you're doing great though. But now I really really want to read the rest! I wanna know what this Bad Thing is going to be. And why it needs to be capitalised! :) But don't tell me! (as if you would)
