Sanctuary's back!

I noticed the first episode on Anytime, luckily, because otherwise I'd have missed it. Then yesterday I watched the first two together.

Recently I'm not getting as excited about my shows. Most of them just aren't as obsess-worthy as they used to be, I mean, the Stargate franchise had become Stargate Universe, which is frankly as meh as a series can be while still being sci-fi. Smallville is really starting to wind down despite the fact that they continue to churn out season after season. Chuck is okay, as ever, but the current season of that seems to be lacking something too. Or possible it's gained something, in the form of the relationship between Chuck and Sarah, that makes it less enjoyable. The same goes for House, though to a lesser extent. I've never been a 'Huddy' fan, and I'm just watching each episode thinking "break up, break up, break up!" I mean, you know they're going to, right. Right?!

But Sanctuary never fails to deliver. It's good to know that I can still rely on it to be exactly what it has always been. I just wish Tesla had been in it, that would've made it perfect. I assume (hope) he'll show up sometime during this season. Until then, I'll just enjoy.

And eventually I'm hoping the next season of Caprica will turn up over here. That's the other one that I'm really looking forward to. And Supernatural, though I honestly can't think what they're going to do this season (see how I'm being good and not reading spoilers or heading to projectfreetv to watch?) But really, I need to get into some new shows, or else I'm going to start watching Masterchef or something equally horrific. Are there any good ones out there that I've been missing? Any suggestions? I can watch stuff online if it doesn't show in the UK. I mean, I've watched the entire series of Bleach that way.

This is part of what radiotimes.com has to say about House:

"America loves Hugh Laurie in House, which is interesting because he plays a spectacularly rude person."

Just struck me as funny.

Anyway, tags have been put in for all my journal entries back to the start of April, more to come. That's just in case anyone needed further proof of my geekyness and obsession with stuff being organised.

Got my Spanish class tonight. Why is it that when you know you have ages to do some work, you don't bother doing it until the last second? Or is that just me? Well anyway, I've now got to do homework, and we were given extra since we had two weeks off. So...ooops? I will do it, but having loads to do makes me not be arsed to do anything. Better get started really.

But House is on tonight, so I'm happy. The second episode. I'm probably just going to download them all anyway, save me from having to wait around to see them. I mean, there's no point trying to watch them in order when I've already seen a few from the middle of the series on one channel, the first ones on another and downloaded the last couple. I think the only way I could watch them in order would be to download the lot. But I'm watching the ones on TV because Jennie's watching with me. It's a mini victory getting her into a show and I think she really likes this one, because there's no way she'd take 45 minutes off revision to watch TV while she ate her dinner if she was just humouring me. Cool.

I think I'm going to play around with these new tag things before I do my Spanish. Putting stuff off is so fun...

So, what did I do today? Watched two random films, watched 2 episodes of Futurama, watched yesterday's Doctor Who again with Jennie and my dad, watched House.

It's not as bad as it sounds. I did most of this TV watching while doing other stuff. Boring stuff like ironing. You can't do that without watching TV. And I ironed for 3 hours. How sad is that? Well, at least it's done now...

Tomorrow though, I have plans. I'm going to write. All day. Most of the day, anyway. I'm going to start a new Traders story, then maybe work on some other stuff that I've not finished. And catch up on my fanfic reading too. Yeah, so most people would say it's not the most exciting plan, but at least it's not just watching TV. And on the night I'm off to the pictures. So yay, leaving the house, always a good sign.

And I'm going to do some job hunting too. Because it's just so much fun.

Try this: Put on some of your favourite music, plug in some in-ear headphones, turn the volume up full, then put the headphones in your mouth. It sounds good. Weird, that. Doesn't sound better than having it at a normal volume and them in your ears, but it's about the same. And it makes you look a bit crazy, which is always fun.

I've got a headache. Not a really bad one but it's not good either, and it's getting worse. I just don't seem to be able to shift it. Stupid orange juice. And yes, I am blaming the OJ instead of the vodka. I'm pretty sure I'm right too.

Anyway, I think I'll watch the ep of Boston Legal I taped last night, then get something to eat and watch Doctor Who. Then I'll maybe rewatch House, maybe Traders, then Shawn of the Dead is on at 10. I like it when everyone is out. I don't need to feel guilty about sitting around watching TV all day. Anyway, I shouldn't feel guilty about it. I have every right to. I've got a headache.

Why is it so satisfying to get someone else addicted to a show you like? There must be some reason, it can't just be that I like having someone to watch TV with. Well, my evil plan to get Jennie addicted to House is underway. I thought I would convince her to watch the first episode last night, but that didn't work, so I put last Sunday's ep on while we were eating. And she liked it. Muahahahaha. I'm fairly sure she'll be watching the next ep with me. And if not, I'll just do the same thing again. Right, just my dad that doesn't like it now...

Gotta go out tonight, I'm off to Piper club. Going with a friend of mine that I've not seen for ages. Should be fun. Hmm, I wonder if she'd be interested in a new TV obsession...

It's finally over!

Well, the course is over. Yeah, I could have written that yesterday, but I was too busy basking in the not-having-to-be-thereness of it all. What a waste of time that was. Okay yeah, so I did meet some people, but has it brought me any closer to getting a job? Nope. Still, a friend of mine rang up yesterday and she mentioned an agency she works for that apparently get her a job every time she goes in. I said I'd ring them, but then my mum said maybe I should wait and see if anything this New Deal shite can do will help me find a permanent job. I suppose she has a point really. One guy on the course had already done it a year ago, found a temp job for 3 months, then had to start the whole thing again. A year from now, I really really don't want to be finishing off at Latitude for the second time. Hey, maybe that's the point. The whole thing is so unpleasant, boring, stupid and frustrating that you try harder to find a job so you don't wind up back there. Yeah, that'll be it, won't it? Meh, whatever.

Anyway, not that's all over, I'm going to go back to rambling about TV. So, the first episode of House was on channel 5 today. Cool show actually. It's not the first one I've seen. Since half the people I know on the internet talk about it, I was going to download a few episodes, but then I noticed it on the Hallmark Channel a few weeks ago. My dad hates it though. He thinks it's completely rubbish. And his verdict put my sister off bothering watching it. But my mum never heard him, so she watched one with me, and loved it. She watched the first one today too, so I think I have someone to watch it with. Which is always nice.

I've been acquiring TV obsessions at an alarming rate recently though, I became instantly hooked on Boston legal when I watched one episode. Then there's House. Then there's Numb3rs, which I finally got my sister to watch the today. And this is all on top of everything I was already watching every week. It's almost a good thing that so many of the series are finishing for the summer around now. Of course, they will all be starting up in America soon and I'll not be able to resist downloading. But I will manage to convince my self that they don't count, I'm sure.

Anyway, now the stupid course is over I'm going to get back to writing. There's a Traders story I've been meaning to write that I've kept not getting around to.

Hey, can anyone recommend any more random shows for me to watch? Because TV obsessions are great! :-D
