I'm so tired. [livejournal.com profile] freaky_science and I had one of our DVD and pizza nights last night. We're still working our way through season one of Teachers, which I'm still amazed that he's never seen. Also Corner Gas season six, because it's awesome. It's been a while since I've seen either of them, I'd forgotten how good they were. I was a bit disappointed that my Hiccups DVD hadn't arrived yet, but not too much because I hadn't really expected it to. It did arrive this morning though, which I also didn't expect. So yay, something to watch tonight.

My task for today is to write. I'm going to finish the latest chapter of Talented. I've been too distracted lately with this other idea that I can't get out of my head, so I've been writing that instead. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it's that good an idea. It's after the Thirst, and involves Edgar becoming a half vampire. I dunno, it'll probably end up stored on my hard drive forever.

I had forgotten how good Teachers was. Well, the first three seasons, anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] freaky_science came round last night for a booze, pizza and DVD night. We watched the new Lost Boys movie, the first four episodes of Bleach and then episode 2 of the Walking Dead. During which, I learned that he had never seen Teachers (the link here being Andrew Lincoln) so I insisted he watch it.

But seriously, I had forgotten how funny it is, and how much I love Kurt and Brian. We watched it til around 4am, by which time I was almost half asleep. But now I really wan to watch all the other ones too. Well, except for season 4, obviously.

Teachers

I finally updated WeLoveTeachers. I can't believe it's been almost two months. I'm so lazy when it comes to that kind of stuff. And it went so well for the first year. Well, I suppose I sort of lost interest during the 4th series. I mean, no Navin Chowdhry! What other reason was there to watch it? For me, anyway. I'm going to overhaul the site though. Now there are no new eps, no new news etc I won't have to bother about new things and can concentrate on making screencaps and transcribing and stuff. And I've been meaning to give the site a new look for months now. But, like so much else, I didn't get around to it. I will now though. Even though I lost interest, everyone else didn't, and I feel I have a responsibility to the fans. People are still visiting the site. I get an average of 10 hits a day. Nothing compared to before, but maybe they'll come back if I update. I hate it when people abandon sites...

I didn't get around to rewatching Traders today. I didn't get around to doing anything, to be honest (except the site update just now) it's been one of those days. Tomorrow though. Tomorrow I'll update the site some more, watch (probably the last three) eps of Traders, do another of the French CDs, post the letter I keep forgetting...Yeah, you know what? I'm probably not going to do most of that!

I'm so lazy recently...

Impulse buying

So, guess what I bought today. Season 6 of Stargate SG1. No, not just the first disk, that I'd been trying to justify spending £20 on for the past however long. The whole thing, the box set. No, before you go assuming I spent £60, it was cheap. Sliverscreen were selling them for £30 each, season 1-6 (random fact - it had just occurred to me that I have taken to writing 'season' instead of 'series'. I didn't even notice till now. Weird) and I was very (very, very, very) tempted to get the lot. But I suppose spending £180 on DVDs in one day is a bit overkill. Would have been so cool though! But no, I just got the one. *Series* 6 is the one I didn't see. I was in Austria when it aired on Sky, and I never got into watching them on C4. (Mostly because I forget, I mean, whose stupid idea was it to put them on in the middle of a Sunday afternoon?) So, here is my justification for buying it. I personally don't think I need to justify it, but my sister seemed somewhat appalled at my spending (and I didn't even mention the £20 worth of comics I also bought!) so, on the off chance that she reads this, because I can't be bothered actually saying it, Jennie, here is my justification:

1) Like I said, I haven't seen it. People keep mentioning things that happened in random episodes of SG1, and some of them happened during season 6. I want to know what I missed.
2) It was cheap. I was after all thinking of buying one disk for £20. For an extra tenner I got the whole season (series...)
3) McKay is in the first episodes. McKay rules, David Hewlett rules, and mad as it sounds, it annoys me that I haven't seen him in this.
4) Why the smeg is it any of your business anyway? My money, my decision. :p

So, that's my week's viewing worked out!

News from my other fandom - Teachers had been Cancelled. I got 2 e-mails about it from different people. Sad, I guess. But after seeing the last series, I can't blame them. I will have to mention it on the site. I really should update. It's been over a month since I have. I hate people that don't update when there is stuff to say..!

140 1/2 hours to The Brotherhood...

Well, the other one seemed a bit mad and too many colours for me. I could have altered them, but I had already spent an hour doing that. This one is simpler. I'll keep it like this for now.
So, I finally updated Weloveteachers, maybe I'll even put up the christmas decorations. On the front page. I'm not doing the whole site again. Takes too long. I was considering redoing it with frames, since it would be so much easier to make updates. I know some people still hate them, which is why I resisted for so long, but if I used frames, I could add decorations to the navigation frame or the title at the top and hey presto, every page is decorated! But it might be a lot of faffing to get it all done and get it decorated before christmas. Maybe next year. Of course, by then no one will be visiting the site because no one will be interested in Teachers anymore. Unless it gets a 5th series, and I find myself really hoping that that doesn't happen.
Anyway, I've got to check my latest chapter of The Weapon, then I'm going to post it, and I need to think up a name for my new fic, once I finish it, that doesn't give the end away.

Changed the layout of my journal. I've been meaning to do it for ages. That provided me with an hour of fun, sad, isn't it?!
Well, I'm bored. No one is on any of my favourite message boards, I have done nothing all day and it is already starting to go dark. Don'tcha just love winter?
Well, I guess I'll go and update my Teachers website. I think I've been neglecting it recently. I mean, nice people have taken the time to send my stuff, and I've just let it sit there in my inbox. I haven't even thanked some of them! I'm a bad person...
Thing is, Teachers just sucks so much now, that I find it difficult even to get enthusiastic about the older episodes. I miss Brian and Kurt. I even miss Matt, and I never really liked him.

Great episode of Atlantis! I hadn't read many spoilers, and I hadn't read the script, so I had very little idea what to expect. Well, except for the Genii, who I know turn up again soon. Those scripts I have read.
Next up is Home, can't wait. But I have to. Sucks, doesn't it?

I think I'm going to go to bed. Yes, it's only quarter past 1, but I am tired, and I've got to get up and make Jennie's birthday cake before I go in town tomorrow. It's signing on day, and I've got to buy Jennie a prezzie too. I've got till friday.

Teachers was rubbish today. I swear that series is getting worse and worse each week. I'm thinking of disowning my website! Well, not really, but I can't be arsed to give it a christmas makeover this year. Brink back Brian and Kurt! And decent storylines, for that matter.

163 hours, 40 minutes to Home...

I wonder why James never rang me back. He rang a week ago on Monday and said he'd ring back on Thursday, but he didn't. Oh well. I'm rubbish at talking to him anyway, so maybe it's for the best.

Last night's episode of Atlantis was so good! I watched it again an hour after it finished! I would have watched it straight away, but Teachers was on. There was another funny Star Trek reference in Poisoning the Well too. Pretty much the only funny moment in it, because it was a serious ep. It was all about Beckett, so much that McKay was hardly in it, but that didn't matter. Oddly. Beckett is almost as good as McKay though. In fact if he was in it more often, them might have to have a fight to win 'best character' place. Or not. Well, I think McKay will always be my favourite really. I mean, just watch Hot Zone and you'll know why!
