I'm so tired. [livejournal.com profile] freaky_science and I had one of our DVD and pizza nights last night. We're still working our way through season one of Teachers, which I'm still amazed that he's never seen. Also Corner Gas season six, because it's awesome. It's been a while since I've seen either of them, I'd forgotten how good they were. I was a bit disappointed that my Hiccups DVD hadn't arrived yet, but not too much because I hadn't really expected it to. It did arrive this morning though, which I also didn't expect. So yay, something to watch tonight.

My task for today is to write. I'm going to finish the latest chapter of Talented. I've been too distracted lately with this other idea that I can't get out of my head, so I've been writing that instead. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it's that good an idea. It's after the Thirst, and involves Edgar becoming a half vampire. I dunno, it'll probably end up stored on my hard drive forever.

I've just pre-ordered myself the first seasons of Dan For Mayor and Hiccups from Amazon.ca.

This goes directly against my new years resolution to save money, but I really really wanted them! The new seasons should be starting pretty soon, which is something to look forward to. Watching those two shows, it's almost like having Corner Gas back. Which reminds me, I should re-watch Corner Gas.

I'll hold off on ordering the 4th season of Little Mosque on the Prairie because it's not out til the 25th, that way it doesn't feel like I'm spending too much at once.

The new season of Little Mosque has started, I got the first episode last week, but I've only just watched it. It was totally annoying, actually. One of those episodes where everyone knows somethings going to happen and then things keep getting in the way. But it got there in the end. I think I might have missed some of the last season though, because I don't remember anything about Amaar telling Reyaan he loved her. But anyway, he proposed, and now hopefully the series can start to move on a bit. But this better not ruin the show.

I'm not sure what to make of it actually. Because there has already been a season that was all about the run up to Reyaan's wedding with JJ, so I'm interested what they're going to do to make this different.

Why do none of these Canadian comedy shows air over here, anyway? It's totally annoying that no one I know watches them.

Yay! Dan for Mayor DVD!

I am still disappointed by Amazon's supposed international shipping times. I mean, is there really any shipping option that could take up to 40 weeks? You could walk and swim here with the DVD quicker. I paid the extra couple of dollars for the faster one, that takes up to 7 weeks. It won't really take that long, it never has before. Probably doesn't really take 40 weeks either, so wtf?

How come I appear to be the last person in the universe to know that a third season of Being Human is starting soon? That's two people today who have mentioned it to me. Where do they get their information from? And more importantly, WHEN is it starting? The BBC's official site is being secretive about it. Soon, apparently. But when? Soon like tomorrow? Or in two months?

What else is starting soon? Glee, on the 10th apparently. And a while ago I was irritated to learn that season 2 of Caprica wouldn't be making an appearance in the UK until early 2011, which is now.

We should get the second half of the current season of Stargate Universe soon-ish, but that actually hasn't started in the US yet. That's a series that has improved drastically this season, but it still doesn't convince me that it's a worthy successor to the other series. It has absolutely no humour in it, and a Stargate series should have humour. Every time things seem to be going well, they kill someone off and make everyone depressed again. But it's infinitely better than it was and I no longer resent the 42 minutes a week I spend watching it. Which is why it's totally typical that they've now decided to cancel it. I do miss Atlantis though still. I miss Rodney McKay. I heard a rumour he's going to be in one of the new episodes.

Talking of, I recently googled David Hewlett, just because I was bored, and I found out that he was in Splice. That's a film I kind of wanted to see. That is, it looks awful, but I knew it was directed by Vincenzo Natali, so I thought it was worth a look. Knowing that, I should have known David Hewlett would be in it really, since he's in pretty much everything Vincenzo Natali has ever done. I doubt it's a large part though. Maybe I'll LoveFilm it rather than just buying the DVD without knowing what to expect. Unless it's like really cheap or something.

So, what other new series do I have to look forward to in 2011? I really need to get into some new shows, mine all seem to by dying out...

I suppose the new series of Dan For Mayor and Hiccups will be along shortly. Season 1 of DfM comes out on DVD on the 18th. I'm SO getting that. And Hiccups too, on the 11th.
