We just had a mini power cut. It only lasted a fraction of a second, the light went out. What's weird is my computer also went black, and it was on battery power, not even plugged in. And then at the exact same time, three or four car alarms started going off outside. I can still hear two of them. What the hell causes something like that?!

It sounds like a power surge through the electric lines and not a cut, causing an electromagnetic pulse that would affect car alarms, sometimes home alarms. The rush of power sends out something like a magnetic pulse that can affect cell phones and other transmission signals, disrupting them for a fraction of a second. If the electricity is underground that can also set off things above it. Does that even make sense because I tried to make it so…?

Hmm, that does make sense, never heard of it before. Weird. And my phone lost its signal afterwards too...

So, maybe not some sort of evil monster then...

That was my second thought. Demon was my first, on Supernatural they tend to make electrical stuff crap out.

I suppose it's like waves or something... I was probably asleep in physics at school so that might be a load of crap :D You'd think that something should be plugged in to be affected by a power cut so yeah I agree it's strange

There are so many explanations, but none make sense in real life!
