I hate tractors. Seriously. I mean, sure they're neccesary for farming, but what's with all the driving along the road at 20mph. Where are they all going? And isn't there another way to get there? Like across the fields or something? Because you can't set off an hour early just in case, but if you get stuck behind one (or in my case, three) you're doomed. Today there was only one and I got past it quickly, but on these single carridge roads, you can be trapped there your whole journey. And lucky me, that's the kind of road that goes all the way to Withernsea, where I work, and it goes right through a lot of farms.

Ah well, rant over. But it is very annoying.

Well when you are sitting there eating a sandwich made with bread which is made from wheat....I'm pretty sure you are enjoying the after effects of a tractor.

They can't drive across country b/c would you want someone driving thru your backyard to get to their house? Even farmland is private property, there are fences to keep cattle in (again I'm sure at some point you have enjoyed a hamburger in your life, unless you are a vegetarien, so you benefit from peoples cattle not free roaming, therefore fences that tractors cant drive thru).

The 20mph thing...hmmm...have you noticed that its a large piece of machinery most likely pulling another large piece?? woiuld you WANT to have that thing coming at you on a road going 70mph??? personally not me.

Give them some room, alot of respect and be thankful they are still there, even in the failing economy, makes going to the grocery store a pleasant experience.. Its not an easy profession to be in, esp with how crazy the weather has been the last few years and the cost of fuel to even RUN these machines has run more than one out of business. I watched my dad fill his fuel tanks costing thousands of dollars....for enough fuel to go about a week. It was crazy.

Wow, confrontational much?

I'm not saying that tractors shouldn't exist, I am aware that they are needed. I do however believe that there should be restrictions on when they can block the roads. Only last week I was very nearly hit head on by someone overtaking one. It's dangerous. Now before you leap at my throat for that, yes I know it's not the tractor drivers fault that morons overtake dangerously, but the fact is that they do, and that they cause accidents.

Incidentally, I am a vegetarian and so don't eat hamburgers.

I'm not saying that tractors should be driving through other peoples fields, but maybe some kind of system should be set up in certain areas. Don't know what roads are like where you are, but here we have a single carrage road going from one town to the next with very heavy traffic, so somethig moving slowly causes a lot of trouble at certain times of the day. People leap at what they think is a chance to overtake when there is a bit of a gap comming the other way, and I don't feel safe on the roads. Maybe they should try to avoid rush hour.

(Sorry for any glaring typos or spelling errors, posting from my phone.)

Lol! But I think they'd block the roads even more if they were not moving at all!
