Time wasting!

I was going to get so much done today. I had plans, like tidying my room up enough so it's fit for human habitation, getting on with the story I started the other day, but mostly just playing around with C++ all day. I've been trying to learn it. Mostly it seems to work, but that's probably because I've been at it less than a week. But in the end, I did nothing. I watched TV all day.

I got through four episodes of Voyager that were randomly on telly, three of Due South, one of Traders, then the stuff that's on at night anyway, so Joey, 24 and Nip/Tuck. Then to finish it all off, they were showing millions of episodes of My Family on UK Gold, so I watched them too. And oddly, I don't feel as though I wasted the day. I don't feel like I actually *accomplished* anything, but it was a pretty enjoyable day! How lazy am I?! Tomorrow though, I do something!

What's wrong with a day in front the tele now and again, just think about how much stimulation you've fed those creative juices.

I can certainly sympathise with the 'fit for human habitation' front, my Mum would probably have a fit if she could see the state of my room sometimes.

I think the state of my room pushed up my nerd status in that test I did. Wasn't there a question something like "Should you have bio hazzard signs in your room"?! :-D

I'm playing about with an idea I had for another Traders story. Sort of. It's set before the series and it's about Grant. I'm not sure whether anything's going to come of it though. Then last night after I went to bed, random dialogue kept popping into my head, so I ended up typing out a slightly odd conversation between Grand and Donald on my PDA. That'd have to go in a different story though.

Do you find that it is necessary to have a notebook in front of your bed? I certainly do (ah the bane of a writers existence)

Yeah. I tend to have a notebook with me all the time, stuffed in my back pocket. Or I have my PDA, which is cool because I don't need to bother turning the light on, but less cool because if the batrery goes and I haven't backed it up, I lose everything!

That's the worst thing with PDAs. Have you tried getting a 'cradle' so that you can back it up onto your PC. Mine was a lifesaver :-)

Cradle? Don't even know what that is..!
My dad's one has a thing you put it in to charge, but mine is old and dodgy, and so needs AAA batteries that need charging and swaping all the time. I think his charger thing connects it to to computer, but mine connects okay using a wire.
I really want to get a new posh one though. Or even a new not so posh one...

That's what I meant by cradle, the thing which the PDA sits in for connecting to the computer. Sorry, I probably didn't use the proper term. I've always called it a cradle.

They seem to be getting cheaper by the minute, it's worth looking around I bet.

I think my dad calls it a cradle too, thinking about it. So it's probably the right name. I don't really say it since I don't have one, so that's why I didn't know it. But I can connect it the other way. The problem is forgetting to do it, which I guess would happen whatever I was using!
