Supernatural 7x03

"Yeah?
"Pie!"
"Obviously."
I loved this episode. It was like a return to the old Supernatural of season 2 or 3, before angels and god and the devil came into it in any serious kind of way. A monster of the week, old jokes like Dean's love of pie and dodgy TV shows. John Winchester lurking unseen in the background of the story, not only in the flashback, but in the present day too. The whole thing felt like the things I used to love abut the show. That's not to say I don't still love it now, but it has evolved into something quite different and it's nice now and then to get a reminder of how things used to be, with some of the current story mixed in, of course. And using the name Amy Pond made me smile, especially as no one in the show pointed out the reference.
