Two near misses while driving today.

I like to think I'm a pretty safe driver, I mean, I've only even had one accident and it was the fault of the other person, who pulled out of a side road without bothering to check if there was anyone in the way. Today, I nearly had two more.

They weren't my fault either, by the way. The first one was while I was driving to work, just going along Hedon Road, there was a taxi in the other lane and suddenly it just started drifting in toward me. Not indicating or anything, so either it didn't mean to or he was moving in without indicating. Trouble way, it was right next to me and if it continued it was going to hit me. So I braked and started thumping the horn in panic mode. He pulled out and drove off. I wonder if he fell asleep or something.

Then on the way home, I was going around a roundabout when someone decided to enter from another road, straight into my car. Again, breaks and beeping. I've used the car horn about four times in the years I've been driving, two of them were today. Roundabout guy had the audacity to scowl at me like I'd done something wrong.

So I was pretty shaken up. I kind of hate driving. I wish I didn't have to do it. But this is why I don't cycle. Can you imagine what you'd do on a bike in either of those situations?! Scary stuff.

I absolutely love driving but it does terrify me when things like this happen. To be honest I don't know what I'd do if I even hit an animal never mind a person :/

That's cool, I was meaning to message you in case you hadn't seen it, but that saves me a job :) We're just debating where to meet up, if you want to weigh in? I think the station would be best, probably.

Sometimes I like driving, but days like that not so much. A few weeks ago I was on my way into town when a kid ran out in front of my car. I missed hitting him by about two inches. That was another bad day. Most of the time it's fine, but the times when it isn't are the ones you remember!

Yeah Adam said the station on aven, he was the one who told me about it actually cos I hadn't noticed before then. It'd be easy for people to find. Hopefully my gym might let me use their car park all day. If not I'll just have to go to one of the multi-stories in town.

I've always loved driving. It's one of the only things that makes me feel like a real adult haha. Although, the first time I went driving on my own was terrifying. I decided to go driving round near my village but since I live in the country all the roads are windy and small and horrid and some woman going way too fast nearly smashed into me :/

I hear country roads are pretty dangerous, but I drive on them every day to work and back, and I only ever have trouble in town. (touch wood)

I don't know how much parking all day in St Stephens or somewhere will cost you, you might be better parking out of town and coming in on the bus. I think I'm going to either bus or walk in, depending on the weather and how lazy I'm feeling.

Well luckily I've managed to avoid having an accident so far which is surprising considering how appalling my car is.

My uni house is in the avenues so I suppose I could stretch to walking from there, although I do have to admit to being horribly lazy when it comes to any exercise not at the gym!

On second thoughts, parking probably won't cost that much, but it's likely to be pretty busy.
