Hmm, don't really think about it that way myself. I mean, to enjoy sci-fi you've got to accept a lot of other things that are impossible or most likely impossible, the idea of alien-human hybrids is just one of them. But it's true, it would never happen.
Dr Who is the only time it ever really annoyed me though. And it's not the impossibility of is so much as the fact that that revelation would change the whole series. Even the old episodes, I'd be looking at them and seeing the Doctor differently. And that's something I didn't want to have to do!
I really hope they don't bring it up in a later episode...
