Just looking through some of the photos on my phone and I came across the few I'd taken at Bryan Adams last week. You know, I remember when people used to wave their cigarette lighters during the slow songs at concerts. How times have changed...



Not that it was good that so many people smoked and carried lighters around with them. Plus they used to burn your fingers. But I still think they looked prettier...

LOL It's been a while since I've been to a concert - I have yet to experience this. Weird. (Cigarettes here are like, $10 a pack or something, I think. It's weird to see people smoking. Though, when I was in high school, pretty much all my friends smoked.)

Yeah, I think they're super expensive here too. I never smoked though, but I know the government taxes them loads to try to put people off smoking. Doesn't stop a lot of people I know though, unfortunately, though e-cigs are taking over now. I just don't understand the appeal or sucking on poisonous smoke! But lighters still look prettier than phones. Maybe I should buy one to take when i see Bruce Springsteen tomorrow! :-)

To be fair, when I took this photo, he had actually asked people to do this with their phones, but people had been doing it anyway.

I see kids on campus doing the e-cigs. I think they call it vapeing. I kind of understand the appeal... but not really. I'd bum a cigarette off my friends when we were out at the bar, but they banned smoking in restauarants & bars in 2003, so that killed that. LOL. Just as well. (That and those friends and I kinda grew apart.) I've since noticed that cigarettes really age people. That and I like that at 37 I can still do everything I've always done without getting winded or coughing up a lung. :)

Have fun at the concert! It sounds amazing.

Yeah vaping. I tried it once, just because someone offered me. But it didn't do anything for me at all. Plus you do t know what chemicals they put in that shit. Shops have sprung up everywhere selling the liquid you put in them. Just that and nothing else, and they obviously do well because they are still in business.

It seems to be more socially acceptable though, so you get people doing it and blowing this weird sickly sweet smell all over crowds of people, including kids, in places they would (I'd hope) never dream of smoking.

Ewww... Yeah, that's gross. I don't know anyone who does it. There was this kid in my Ecommerce class last fall that I was grouped with for a project who pulled one out one day. This kid was born my jr year of high school - I wanted to be like, what the heck are you doing??! LOL But, yeah, wouldn't have gone over well.
