New Scientist has an article about face blindness. And it's the cover story. How cool is that? Huh, this is the second time I've picked up the stuff that's come through the letter box and found an article about me. Hee!

In other news, I'm getting all re-obsessed with Numb3rs. Oh dear.

Some people have that problem as well, there are many different kinds, but what it is is not being able to recognise faces. Like, if I went in town and bumped into someone I know from work, I wouldn't necessarily have any idea who it was. If I saw them as work I probably would becuase I'd expect them to be there. Eh, it's hard to explain.

If you're interested, there's a few pages online about it. My favourite is this one the top link, prosopagnosia and stones is a really good demonstration.

Woh. I had never heard of that before. Must make things difficult at times.

Can do. Mostly it's annoying becuase people assume I'm being rude and blanking them when I don't say hi! But there's coping strategies to get around it. The real problems are for people who develop it as adults rather than being born with it, like through head injurys and stuff.

Actually, I started an Atlantis fic a bit ago where that happened to Sheppard. Abandoned it for now though.
